You know who you are. There’s no pulling up, tossing out the cooler, unfolding a chair and calling it good. Not you. You’re the one with the holiday-specific décor, the well-tuned wind chimes, the party lights hung just so, the furniture scrubbed and ready for entertaining. Or the one with your fishing gear at the ready and bikes set up for a quick outdoor adventure. You are the one everyone else is talking about. You do things your way. You are the ultimate kamper.
And we say…bring it on.
Whether you have flamingos by your front door, a fold, stow and go tiki bar or more coolers than people ever thought would fit in one place, we want to see how you deck out your RV site, tent site or KOA kabin. Send in your photo, and you could win free camping for your next getaway!

We camped at St. Marys KOA in East Glacier, Montana last summer, every one was great that took care of our needs. I loved it there. The Mountains were fantastic. Having camped cross the United States some dozen times east coast to west and back @ all National Parks , This was my first time in Glacier. I rate it “great” see ya real soon!
Thank You St. Marys KOA people.
best kamping at Benson, AZ. We stayed at a great Kabin, next to lawn with birds in the trees. hosts were awesome, place was neat and clean, good coffee every morning.
When are the application due for the campgrounds giveaway. I couldn’t find a due date. Thanks
Hi Virginia–Just submit your photo and other info before September 13th! Can’t wait to see your entry!
The camp that provided everything we have needed took place
at #6 Savannah South. We have stayed there many times and they have always been very helpful and the grounds are fantastic.
I might add that our poorest experence was this summer at #16 St. Augustine
Beach
We always stop at KOA for security reasons, cleanliness and maintenance
of the parks
We love to go to the Willit KOA. The new owners have really fixed the place up nice. You have the best of the mountains and the ocean. Lots of new stuff and the place is really clean.
Love Willits KOA
We always prefer KOA for their facility, cleaniless, customer service, safety and serving quality. I find one of the best facility availible for reasonable price across country. I trust and refer my friends to stay
we travel alot with the grandkids and always stay at KOA’s due to what they have for the kids. Our favorite KOA, and has been for 18 years, is Cherokee KOA, NC. There is no need to leave the campground! Only negative would be that the cabins need to be updated.
I agree with you Jan. We stayed there this summer when it was soooo hot. Really needed some AC. I couldn’t breathe with it being so hot.
We have been at the KOA in Albuquerque, NM for a couple of months due to health issues but I just wanted to let everyone know how great ALL the staff have been since we’ve been here. They go above and beyond our expectations.
Glad to hear you enjoyed your stay at Albuquerque, N.M. and I got to admit, they went beyond my expectation too!!! However, I can’t say it was for something good.
Here’s what happened: Upon check in, the clerk let us know the office/store was open until 8pm. Glad to hear that. Also thankful they had washing machines on site. Unfortunately, the cost was twice than other KOA sites. So, at approximately 7pm, we went to the office/store to get coins and discovered it was closed!!!! Had to go off-site for change, no problem.
Later that night, while the night watchman was closing the pool area, I asked him why was the office/store closed earlier that what was stated. He replied, “New hours according to the management as of Sunday (three days prior). It’s out of my control.” I told him what the clerk advised us earlier. That seemed to have sparked a flame in him because he angrily responded, “That’s not my decision, it’s out of my control”.
I wasn’t expecting an apology but an explanation that made sense would have sufficed. Definitely unexpected and unappreciated.
Bad marks for this KOA just because nightguy was grumpy and impatient.
We camp at the KOA in Casey,IL..Our children live in IL. and we live in Ohio. We all meet there to camp.
Cathy and Glen run this KOA and do a very good job. It is always clean, well run with rules for campers. Has a pool. They serve breakfast on Holiday weekends, for a small fee. They have hayrides(weather permitting), and they have a covered dish meal,if you want to come. Also they have Bingo! Lots of fun for all. Forgot, they also have ice cream in the evenings on Holiday weekends(also for a small fee).
Our favourite KOA was Wapakoneta, OH near Lima. It was so beautifully manicured and owners so nice, washrooms and grounds were spotless. Our least favourite was Nashville and it really needs some TLC – they were helpful in the office. Also liked Port Huron, MI, but were dissappointed when we brought the grandkids as we were told the little train would be running and it wasn’t. Will try again. We like to stay at KOA’s for security, cleanliness and availability of cable and wireless.
We stayed at the Cloverdale KOA. Very nice hosts and maintenance people. The view from our site was priceless. Looking down towards the Anderson Valley and all the vineyards. We took our Harleys with us and rode around the countryside. Some of the best roads that we have travelled on two wheels. Didn’t try fishing in the pond but maybe next time. Great place to relax. Thanks again.
We camped at the Québec City KOA last summer. Definitely the best one so far. Some tidy and well manitained.
Convenient access to highways leading to the city. Definitely worth the stay. Loads of history in the Old City and the restaurants are fabulous, as is their food!
My son will be home (Ft. Stewart, Ga) from Iraq soon, so my favorite camp site is lake side at South Savannah KOA. The staff is wonderful and I love camping in the pines. I thought it was funny watching some of the swans line up to eat breakfast out of the buckets. Just watch all the swans, geese, and ducks is so peaceful. The park is conveniently located halfway between Ft. Stewart and Savannah. It’s great to have my family pick me up for a day in Savannah. If I liked fishing it seem to be a great place for that too. I see fish jumping all the time. My grandson won’t forget his pole next time we go. This is my favorite camp site and I will be there at least 3 times this year.
Two weeks ago, we camped at KOA at the Outer Banks, NC. The facilities were excellent and I found the staff to be compassionate and outstanding. I will share two examples that demonstrate this.
In the middle of our vacation, while enroute to Ocracoke, we received a phone call that my daughter’s boyfriend’s father was killed in a small plane crash. We had chosen to vacation from computers and the internet. But when we returned to the campground, I was in total shock and ran into the campstore and borrowed the Internet. I found the story in several places. But that computer didn’t have a printer. The lady in the store, Jackie, or affectionately known as “Matey”, went into the back office and printed up the story for me. She was very compassionate and gave me the hug that I needed for the moment. That shows how the staff went above and beyond her duties.
During that same week, my son with Down Syndrome disappeared on his bike. Paul, the man at the gate rode around in his golf cart, assisting me in finding him. He called fellow workers, creating a search party. We finally found him in a neighbor’s campsite.
It doesn’t matter what kind of a campground the place is. It’s the staff that really and truly makes it. They really looked out after my family!!!
We just spent our 2nd trip to South Dakota, at Spearfish KOA, for Sturgis Bike Week. It was WONDERFUL! Compared to 2006, this time there was staff everywhere. Don’t take that they wronge way, 2006 was a wonderful trip too. This time, we spent more time, in and around Spearfish. The sites were well kept, the facilities were clean and everyone in the whole campground; staff and campers, were very courtesy. We are already planning another trip up there in 5 years, and yes, Spearfish is our destination.
This campground is far enough away from Sturgis, to have some quiet time at night. Yet, close enough, that a bike ride will bring you to downtown Sturgis. Without getting on the interstate.
we first started camping with our kids in 1980 at the burlington koa.wa.
we still camp there for about two months over each year.
the family now grown one 44 the other 41 they now bring the grand children there.
what is camping without family and friends,we have made wonderful friends including the family of the owners.
what a joy it is to camp at this location our every need is met.
We stayed at the KOA at Buena Vista Colorado and were enchanted with the area. It has possibly the most unpreposessing approach I’ve ever seen, but upon actual arrival at the campground, it was wonderfull. While setting up, we were divebombed by hummingbirds trying to move us from their nest site, but it was facinating rather than annoying. The scenery was beautiful, and the staff were welcoming and helpfull.
this last month the wife and i went from or home in fla to water town n.y. the best kamp ground was pinegrove/twin grove park ,pa. when we pulled off i 81 and saw the sign that read 5 miles. well we almost got back on 81 but talked it over boy are we glad we stayed. we had dinner in the restaurant the meal was great. this kamp ground is great for familys as well as old coots like us.
Christmas 2009 my family and I camped at Space Center KOA in Mims, FL. I rented a kabin and the rest of the family set up a tent site. We decorated with lights, a tree and presents from “Santa” after the children went to bed. Our Christmas ham was sliced into gravy and heated in an electric skillet. Christmas breakfast was a ham, egg, and mushroom scramble . There was OJ, and plenty of coffee and Entemans coffee cake. The folks at Kennedy Space Center KOA are great, friendly, and helpful. The kampground is very clean and child friendly. I am going to mail my photos to KOA for the contest because I do not know how to send pictures via the internet. Happy Kamping everyone!
we~were satisfide with camping,How ever we don’t appreciate everytime we camp.Locks miths are brought out by the male member of Famiely owners & ellegally intered into while we are gone, because we live in same area as drug deallers I beleive he is looking for drugs to satify his habbit thinking we were drug addicts like him.Satelite servailence security caught him doing this 4 years in a row,Owners Son.
We were married May 15, 2010 and had our honeymoon at Manchester KOA. Our friends and family came up on the weekend to share our celebration and stayed in RV sites and the cabins.
We had a wonderful wedding celebration dinner at the campground. We walked to the beach. We saw deer, rabbits, bunnies and even a bobcat!
Thanks to the wonderful Manchester KOA staff! The campground was terrific. We had such a good time our daughter is going back this Sept 18th to get married at the campground!
Good times!
it was our second stay at cherokee S.C. koa park, kottages are great, some have decks that over hang the river and ponds that are stocked twice weekly for those without fly fishing tackle. In may the weather is great cool evenings and warm days. Lots of Indian jewlery beautiful rivers (clear) water, Just a short drive to higher mountains and clean air. We really enjoyed our self. We plan to try a new koa park soon.
Although I love the idea of taking flamingos camping….KOA in Eureka, Ca has it all. They can keep you busy with golf, a pool table, games, swimming, bike riding, ice cream socials, hay rides and a group campfire. They have a great gift shop and stock all the things campers run out of or forget! I’ve come to like the gals that run the campgroud as well as enjoying the maintence staff. Perhaps they’ll supply us with flamingos for a small fee! (I’m already overloaded when I tow.)
we always go to the parry sound KOA its always fun and enjoyable they always treat us well and they treat the kids well i say the parry sound KOA is the best in ontario
Wy wife and i travel mostly on our motorcycle and have always stay at KOA as they seam to realy cater to bikers. No matter which one we stay and we stay at a lot, they always seam to make our stay a place we will remember always. We have had to stay at other camps and they are ok but they are not KOA. We always tell all we meet about the way we are treated and to try it them selves.
